I worked at take away during my divorce, which is disgraceful but child services intervened on his speed addiction, I was employed by Muslim lady boss who wanted me to at times help cook, when busy. So I now make perfect falafel, which expensive so we'd make dip with daree lentils, and there many delicious vegetarian dishes. Also good is tsatsini dip. Still argue as I did special sign for kebab and chips that weekend, had many orders. But the boss made shish kebab with mince which is probably traditional, however in West the customers were expecting meat on sticks. Huge mixup. So I renamed the kebab and just explained it to customers.....just not same amount orders. But bunny chow always sells well, and we were busy enough. But I had to leave because working 7 days a week didn't allow me to see my boys, school would phone to say homework wasn't done or missed school. My boss was understanding she said she picked me for job because I was more quiet, don't drink. He said B-12 ... You get this only from meat.

Of interest was the Asian equivalent of yoghurt, kimchi. Not just any form of multi-B vitamins. Energy drinks that have high amounts of B vitamins are not methylated (e.g. cyanocobalamin). A significant percentage of autistics, especially females, do not have sufficient metabolic processes to methylate. When in doubt, seek out methyl B12 (methylcobalamin) and methyl folate. Furthermore, if you are choosing a daily multi-vitamin, seek out a methylated multi-vitamin supplement. SAMe is another cofactor that helps with methylation.
If you lack the ability to methylate, then the active form of the vitamins will not be converted in the body, leading to deficiencies. The body simply excretes it, and you've wasted your money. More importantly, it can lead to an increase in an inflammatory marker called homocysteine which can adversely affect many organ systems (brain, liver, kidneys, etc.) not to mention it is associated with increased risk of hypertension, stroke, and heart attack.
Autistics should have their homocysteine levels tested. If elevated, poor methylation may be a contributing factor to other health issues (physical and mental) you may be experiencing.
