Do you like to repeat music?

yeah this sounds familiar, I've been getting into the habit of replaying whole albums though as it seems better and it means i lose interest in a song less quickly.

I often listen to the same music repeatedly. Over recent weeks on most mornings I listen to Olson by Boards of Canada with my morning cup of tea and I find this very soothing.:)

I do this too.
According to Poweramp, I have one song played 203 times since it was loaded in the player (46 days ago). But at the first day I did put it in loop for one hour.

At least 2500 songs share the same melodic scheme (4 chords), and they are mostly highest rated, so I cycle between them. I enjoyed it since I was 4, at this point I was unable to speak yet( and due to that I went to "preschool" 1.5 years later than my peers). My mom told me I was looking attentively at the tv screen when a song like that was playing on the musical channel, and it does still catch my attention today.

Yes I do this all the time at the moment is Walls by icehouse and blue jean by David Bowie they are the two songs I been listening to repeatedly lately and before that it was his eyes by Pseudo Echo.

Not as much as when I was younger, because I've got more songs that I wanna listen to than I have time. I usually only put a song on repeat if I'm practicing playing it on an instrument. But then once I've got it figured out, I'll keep it on repeat because then it's fun.

Personally, I generally refrain from 'encores' in music - that is repeating music might damper the reasons why we enjoy the music.

It may be best to plan on playing several different favorites in order to avoid repeating the same music choices.

It comes down to the hook(s) in the song, I guess...but also, the emotions they create in me can have more impact.

Just the same, per the songs I write and record of my own, it's absolutely a case of "having" to listen to each song over and over probably two hundred times before feeling confident that it's ready for public release. I have definitely scrapped songs and started over doing such, though, as you will find out whether or not a song has replay / staying power / lasting listenability.

I always have go tos to repeat. Songs I like for the engery or because they hold a meaning to me. Both in certain cases. Though in recent years, my focus is more on lyrics and any notable leitmotifs(if it's music from media such as shows or videogames). Also like to feel out music when I listen to it. Not everything will trip my trigger. But the things that do, I tend to replay alot.
