The countryside is beautiful here, just before dusk. I can't always get away, but when I can, I like to drive on familiar back roads and watch the hills light up, with the cows, sheep, llamas, blacktail deer, and horses. Usually while blasting music and singing poorly.

When I am really low I re-read a favorite book. No music, as little input as possible.

But I do live in a lovely wilderness area, and can walk into a park or along a lake very easily. This does wonders for me.

And cats. We have four wonderful rescue cats, and one of them, Tristan, is my little buddy.

He always knows when I am feeling low, and then he fusses over me. My therapy cat!

When it comes to change, I think the most important thing most any Aspie needs to learn is to recognize those traits and behaviors they have control over, versus those they do not. The "Serenity Prayer" isn't just for alcoholics:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

It reminded me of India Arie, she has a song about it. I used to listen to her a lot.

It sounds like a beautiful place. I find it very soothing to be sourrounded by nature and watching sunsets coloring the landscapes and clouds.
