Do you find dining out boring?

I like the food, especially at restaurants where there are many dishes on the table. Sometimes having more people is better, because then they talk with each other, and I can focus on sampling all the dishes. Or I'll go alone.

I think I prefer to cook, because then the conversation is about something interesting: cooking.

I do not mind eating in a restaurant, but I never go alone. My wife and I go out to eat 2 or 3 times a month. Occasionally we will take one of our kids and their spouse out to eat. As far as a restaurant is concerned, My wife always picks. Since I will eat almost anything, the only thing that I care about is the lighting, noise and smoke. We always go to a non-smoking establishment that is not to crowded or bright.

I am picky and prefer to eat at places I know and get food I know. I am very pick but I can eat alone I need a companion someone I am in a relationship with otherwise I am a complete shut in

It depends. I'm very fussy but luckily we normally go to the same few places so I'm use to the menu and have safe foods. But I like eating out by myself and I enjoy it with my mum but with my mum and dad or friends I generally don't enjoy myself.

If "dining out" = going to a restaurant, it's not boring.
It's just not possible.
I am allergic or sensitive to too many foods and their aromas for going to a restaurant to be a plausible venture.

At the risk of sounding like a boring person, I find eating out to be extremely dull.
It seems that whenever you meet up with a friend or go to a celebration of some sort, the occasion inevitably involves a cafe, restaurant or dinner party. In turn you feel obliged to host a birthday meal to meet expectations, even thought it's not your idea of a fun way to spend your birthday evening.
Eating is pleasurable when I'm hungry, but I just don't see the attraction of it as a social occasion. For me, dinner is over within fifteen minutes. It tasted nice, it gave me what I needed and now I just want to get on with my life.
I wish people would come up with more imaginative suggestions like stargazing or swimming or a tour of some sort.
What do you think? :)

I enjoy eating out and would do it more often if finances permitted as it's a good way to socialise.
..Provided the place is fairly quiet and not crowded, otherwise I lose the conversation in the noise and press of other people.. the company is good, literally 2-3 close friends.. I'm not confused by protocol, do you find a table or wait to be seated, leave money on the table with the bill or find somewhere to pay.. how do you attract service..
If the place makes me anxious I really won't like it and will probably leave at the earliest opportunity.

If it's in restaurants, I've never seen the point. You end up waiting 10 mins to get the menu, another 15 to be asked your order, then anything up to 45 mins before you get anything to eat. By that point, I'm quite annoyed and can't be bothered to eat, I just want to go home. So, for me my experiences have proven eating out to be frustrating, pointless, waste of time and money, and very stressful.

i horribly dislike having to wait for food. that is my #1 reason I'm against dining out. if I'm hungry, I want my food NOW! also, I'm not big on the type of food restaurants offer, let's order in pizza or Chinese and eat it at home where we want to in our pajamas.
