Diagnosis

Usually it's a therapist. At least, that's what I hear a lot here, and that's how it went for me.

Ended up at a therapist first for minor depression issues, then, when he found my problems were too severe and might be deeper, I got sent to a "specialist", though it's nothing more than a therapist. Over here, in the Netherlands, there's 1st line and 2nd line therapists. 1st line is for minor problems (temporary depression and other temporary problems), the 2nd line is where you're being sent to for more severe issues like diagnosing whatever problem you might have. Probably best to compare it to a General practioner vs. a hospital in terms of "regular" healthcare. I've heard of members on this board going directly to a specialist of sorts; but then again... the US, healthcare and coverage, I have no clue how exactly it works.

So long story short; a therapist will most likely diagnose it. The route to said therapist quite often is the trickiest part.
