Diagnosis and nerves

Hi,
This is my first post, although I have reading these threads for a while.
I'm a 21 year old aspie with comorbid ADD.
I have not yet been officially diagnosed but I will be going very soon.
I 'm very anxious about going,I've watched YouTube videos and read about people being misdiagnosed and I'd this happened and I wasn't listened to it would be very disheartening for me leading to a possible meltdown.
I have known myself for a number of years now and when I researched it at first it was like reading an autobiography. I also took an asperger AQ test and scored 44,over 32 is considered asperhers.
If anybody is familiar with the Myerrs Briggs testing I'm a INFJ,any other INFJ's here?
As for my personal life,I'm a carer.,which would be stressful for some but perfect for me as I've tried the 9-5 thing and it didn't work out, kept getting fired.
I'm married to a wonderful man,Paul who is 25 and is diagnosed with Aspergers and Adhd. Anybody else here Asperger with an aspie partner?
I'm a bit of an autodiadact and my interests include genetics, neuroscience and human evolution and geological dispersion.
I also love Marvel comic (xmen anyone?) xD , sketching and painting and music.
I'd like to meet some like minded people and have interesting discussions on Aspergers,ADD and general awesome things :)

If memory serves, I received an INFJ classification when I took a Myers-Briggs test. I also love all things X-Men. :D

Welcome!

Hi Nikita

I'm awaiting diagnosis for Aspergers and quite possibly ADHD. I share your nerves. You're in the right place though. I been here a few days and feel right at home already

Welcome :D

Hello and welcome Nikita. You don't have worry about your diagnosis here we accept you as you are. :)

Your score does tie in with having aspergers or aspie for short. I have done the Briggs and Meyers test I an a
ISTJ.

There members here that like to research various aspects, from a psychological point of view.

Welcome![/QUO

I haven't ever met or spoken to another Infj before but something tells me it would be common enough in female aspies in particular xD Awesome :D
Thank you!

It's nice to know I'm not the only one that's nervous,I have this fear of being ignored because of issues with gp's in the past. I feel welcome already, your all so lovely :)

A lot of people here seem very informed on all area's of aspergers and psycholgy alright. I've learned a lot from reading through the threads here the past few weeks :)

We are allways looking to learn as you are. Do you remember what your classification was with the Briggs Meyers test, mine said I am a Guardian inspector I think. I think HelloDizzy is the same as I am as well.

I think I was INFJ, The Protector. My husband,an INTJ was The Scientist.
Apparently we make a good match xD
Its great to meet people as interested in psychology as myself,I have a feeling Il be spending a lot of time on this site :)

Some have made it more than a Hobby, Dizzy writes a colum you may find interesting, Arashi And Ereth will read any thing and every thing on the subject. I have a general interest .

Welcome :)

I too took the Myer's Briggs test, though can't remember my results off the top of my head. I know there's a thread somewhere on this site about it, with a poll on the percentages of people who have various results. I think that particular score was popular, from memory.

Hi Nikita :) I'm new to this site too, and also newly diagnosed at age 35. I was nervous too, and once I'd braved the GP and been told I was 'just anxious', I decided to go over my GP's head and see someone for assessment on my own. The feeling I got when the psych gave me my diagnosis of Aspergers was a relief, but also a grand 'f**k you' to the GP who wouldn't listen, hehehe.

Introverted and Intuitive are very common traits amongst aspies. Most seem to be Infj/Intj. I think more females are usually infj and males intj. It can go the other way too though of course.
I think this is why aspies are generally drawn to one another, even in romantic relationships. They have a lot in common and make great friends for one another. An Infj and an intj relationship can be very intense.

Hi Sass :) Congrats on your diagnosis :D
I had the same kind of reaction from a gp five years ago when I was 16,but instead he diagnosed me with major depressive disorder :/ That just angered me and I didn't think about doing anything again until recently.
I'm going to do exactly that this time around,no gp's. I'm currently waiting for a call back from an ASD specialist in Dublin,so soon hopefully.
So,maybe Il be able to go up to my gp sometime soon and make him listen and belittle him like he belittled me xD :L That and being able to relax of course,I just feel so much anger right now for these so called professionals :/

Hmmm, there's a theme starting here... As soon as I get my dx confirmed there might be a certain gp round here getting some 'education'

Hello,

Yes misdiagnosis can be troubling, but can always be altered. My son has both ADHD and aspergers. I am an INTJ/P and working on diagnosis. My psychiatrist is looking the other way as if it is a combination of other things (like OCD??). *rolls eyes* I am going to see someone els; he does not have a clue.

I am doing research in neuroscience and also interested in related fields and unrelated fields (like physics and astronomy), with other random interests.
