Computer Help Needed by Whitewater Woman, please

This is the set up I am trying to get to work. All the parts were working flawlessly in my office (where I no longer have internet.) I have moved them to the main room in my little cabin.

Here’s an overview, followed by details.

The CPU is a small 5 inch square block that was recommended to me by cberg, some may remember him from WP. It’s running Windows 11.

The keyboard is a standard extended keyboard. It is wired to the CPU. The mouse is battery operated wireless and its little receiver is plugged in. I just changed the batteries.

The monitor is an LG, large, probably 24” on the diagonal. It is plugged into the CPU with its special plug. It is wired to the CPU.

CPU is plugged in and lights are blue.

I have checked all the electrical connections and they are on tight. Wireless is not set up yet, but that shouldn’t interfere with the monitor’s ability to display.

When the CPU is on, and I turn on the monitor I get two messages, the first and then the second. And then it shuts down. I’ve tried pressing various buttons on the keyboard that might be OK to no effect.

Any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated

Is there an OK button on the plastic part of your monitor? Normally there are some small buttons under it on the frame, typically right corner.

Monitors often have several inputs, and the correct input has to be selected. There ought to be a setup button, as Tired said, usually under the lower right corner, near the on/off button. Once set configured, the monitor will remember the setting when turned off. If you are using a TV instead of a pure monitor (there is not much difference between the two any more) you may need to use a remote to set up.

There are no buttons anywhere like Tired indicated. There is only one button and it is the on/off button. I have turned the monitor every which way: no other buttons.

I’ve taken photos of the plug in places. Maybe I have something in the wrong hole.

That's my thoughts too, you just have to tell the monitor which input it's supposed to be displaying. In the first message it's telling you that it found something connected and is asking if you wish it to display that.

Your monitor might be like mine - no little buttons around the edges of the frame.

Instead there's a little wobbly toggle thing that you press once to activate the monitor's menu, then you can move it up and down or side to side to navigate that menu.

If your monitor is like mine the button in this picture isn't "just" an on off button. Try pushing it side to side and up and down.

I get the monitor is asking me to do something, I just don’t know how to implement its request.

try moving the cable on the monitor to the next one, the HDMI IN 2... if that does not work, maybe we need pictures of the back of the CPU. where you connect the cables.

By jiggling the on/off button in a variety of ways, the monitor suddenly decided to work. Hurray!

And I've got it connected to the internet!!! I'm on a role.

However, when I try to go to a specific website, ALL the browsers: chrome, firefox, and Edge refuse to let me go any further stating:

Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.google.com (for example, passwrods, messagres, or credit cards.) Learn more about this warning.

But there are no such problems signing into websites from my windows laptop or ipad or iphone.

Any suggestions as to how to get my windows CPU to behave?
