Communicating with aspies

DogwoodTree

Still here...
Has anyone heard of Karla McLaren? I stumbled across some of her articles on autism, and she seems to "get it" a whole lot more than most authors I read, except maybe Tony Attwood.

Anyway, here's one of her articles on communicating with aspies (uses the context of teaching children, but I think it's insightful for anyone trying to communicate with aspies, like a therapist or a doctor):

And here's an article on aspie hyper-empathy:

part 2: http://karlamclaren.com/empaths-on-the-autism-spectrum-part-2/

Those were awesome, thanks!! Just sent the links to my therapist, an NT who still maintains that Aspies have no empathy....we've gotten into some real debates about that one...

Your therapist is a idiot!....and you may quote me!
Empathy for the world is destroying me and my life!
