The ground.. Not safe. Even though they have their reasons, they really need to learn to build their nests elsewhere or something, so they don't fall victim to lawn maintenance every single time.They can be pretty nasty but fortunately we don't see them that often in parks, councils regularly mow the lawns and the nests get mowed as well.
What next for the Masked Lapwing? Nesting in the middle of freeways? Perhaps the train tracks?
Terrible real estate.
