Coldest night of this winter yet...

Only around 18 degrees F right now. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........................

A memory of New Year's Eve 2016 for me... As always the recycling business gets slammed right after Christmas (I worked there from 2009 to 2020)... In 2016 we had an epic cold snap over the holidays, starting a couple days before Christmas... December 31 was frigid, and was my only day off in a stretch of two weeks, probably close to -30 Celcius... I was so itchy I just had to for a walk, even in what frigid weather, I was getting major cabin fever... So I went for a walk through a downtown park for up to an hour and saw no one else the entire time, I can't imagine why  then stopped in at a local coffee shop to warm myself up... This is one photo from that peaceful (cold) walk through the park...

Six days later the weather warmed up, I turned down yet another overtime shift, picked up my camera for the second time in two weeks and hit the road onto the prairies, traveling the empty back roads of rural Alberta... Even drove across a frozen river (the ice was safe to do it), got this photo at that point in the day...
