Very sad, surprised he was as old as that though, he didn't look it.

They were on Top of the Pops 1986 last week as well, doing "Snooker Loopy", one of those rather cool songs of the mid 80's that was catchy but in a good way, not annoying like some stuff, they did a lot of songs like that such as Gertcha! Rabbit, etc.

To be honest, I'd only ever heard of them after hearing Peter Kay mention them in one of his jokes on the "Live at the Manchester Arena" DVD.

Peter: I rang [my mum] last week from London and she answered:
Peter's Mother: "Where are you?"
Peter: "I'm in London".
Peter's Mother: "You don't sound like you're in London".
Peter: "Well what do you want? Chas and Dave singing 'Rabbit' behind me or something like that?"

In any case, may Chas rest in peace and blessings to his friends and family.

Have a look on YouTube for some of their greatest hits videos.

I was in HMV at Meadowhall this morning, saw a Chas and Dave collection CD for £5.99 but I can play the songs on Alexa (Amazon Echo device) and watch the videos on YouTube.
