Canned Food

In the past I did not think twice about buying canned foods like tuna, tomato paste, black beans etc. Lately, however, due to the BPA (Bisphenol A) in many of these products I no longer buy any canned food. Anyone else?
 
I very rarely buy canned food as most of it is processed and often lacks nutritionally compared to fresh food. I used to eat a lot of canned food when I lived on my own mainly because it was cheap and easy to prepare but now I'm living with my family I eat mainly fresh food.
 
Reminds me of the bit in Gremlins 2: The New Batch where the head gremlin goes on about canned food and shotguns.

Also: do food pouches count? Oh, and CORNED BEEF!

Very few cans in my pantry. Those that are there were purchased in case of power outages from hurricanes. Oh, and some emergency soups for when illness strikes. I just prefer fresh food; it tastes so much better.
 
I agree. I use very little canned food. And then, only as a backup. I only eat fresh or frozen food. Anything else has been f$@&k$d with. Stay out of the middle aisles of the grocery stores. Only buy stuff from the perimeter. That's where the healthy food is.
 
I hardly ever eat canned foods, mainly canned tomatoes (so-called "fresh" tomatoes I disdain to call "tomatoes") and paste. Vegetables I usually get frozen, and beans, I do not know why anyone would buy canned pintos or black beans. Rinse dried beans, boil for two minutes, let 'em soak for an hour, cook for about an hour (depending on the bean), you got yer beans. Throw in some rice you have a complete protein, great mouth feel, it's a super food!
