Hi
I'm French, 39, and I've been enquiring about AS for a while now. I've made two tests that are allegedly serious and both results were the same : AS (and not near the "not AS" area...).
My research brought me some answers, but also many questions. I hope to find some of the answers here

You are right weth, that's exactly what it means.
I've been searching other forums, but this one is be the best one. As for what brings me here... Years ago, I asked myself if I didn't have autism. I disregarded it, but the question crept back a few times, until I really began considering I had something not working right. I face many problems all or most of you face, so I won't go into details (no friends, fear of being with people because of the reactions I'd get when I say something, and so on... also depression, though I never made the connection before reading about it in the AS forums.)
A few months ago, I looked, I don't remember why, for AS on internet. I came back to my search many times, learning bits by bits until I discovered a blog that may me think "hey, that's me!" I re-oriented my search, disregarding (what I now know is ********) the sites saying "all aspergers are like this and this". And I eventually got here.
Ni I'm struggling with questions like "would it make a difference if I were diagnosed AS?" or "Would I say it to my family or boyfriend or hide it like a dark secret?" "would there be a miracle treatment?" and so on.

no miracle treatments but, a lot of really great people here, informative and thought provoking discussions, humor here ant there, just a good place to get to know us, ask questions and learn. :)
