When my son (now 4 years old) was a baby I got home one day and my wife and the nanny were making a big fuss. My wife had just run and got the video camera and was getting it out of the case. My son was blowing bubbles with saliva, which were then forming into drool and running down his chin. My wife had never seen a baby do that before and she thought that it was cute.
We only saw him do that a couple of times, so that is probably a good thing. I used to do it obsessively as a baby. My mum used to tell me that I would sit in the cot for ages with a look of fierce concentration on my face, blowing saliva bubbles until I had a beard of drool hanging off my chin.
I actually remember doing it as well. I remember a few things from when I was a baby.
I'm just wondering if anyone has heard of this, and whether it is a trait/symptom of autism?
