Becoming V.I.P. member

Something I noticed: I badly want to become VIP member, therefore I need PayPal, which I have, but still I can't become a VIP member because a credit card needs to be linked to it. Is there a way for me to donate to the community and become VIP member without needing a credit card?

I understand, but I don't have one and I don't want one, but I still want to donate.
Well I do have a bank account, I can transfer money from the bank account to my PayPal, but can't donate because I don't have a credit card.

You don't need a credit card anymore to get a Paypal account, just a normal bank account will do. It is important however that the bank account is in the same name as the Paypal account. It works by making a regular bank transfer to the Paypal account. It takes a few days before it's on there, but then you'll have money on the Paypal account to make payments with. You might even be able to pay through Paypal direct from you bank account, without having to do the transfer first, but I haven't tried it yet. (I'm not sure if it's even possible here, but you Dutchies always seem to be a little ahead with those things.)

You should be able to send money as long as you have a bank account associated with your paypal account.

I linked my bank account, it isn't confirmed yet, but I again tried to donate.
Didn't work, it still takes me to the page where they say that I need to have a credit card linked, further down the page they give me the option to send a credit card to me, but I don't want one

You won't be able to pay anything with the Paypal account as long as there's no money on it yet. It works a little different than with a credit card. There should be an option to 'top up account' or 'geld storten' (second option from the left on my paypal). This will send you to a page with the details for making a bank transfer (things like IBAN and BIC). With this information you can go to your regular online banking thing and make a transfer to your paypal account with the amount of money you'd like to have available on your Paypal. Once that's done it usually takes another 3 days before the money is actually on your Paypal account and you can start using it to pay for things.

Thanks Gonzerd, I've already bought stuff with the account and currently have $18 or €18 on it, don't know which one but that doesn't seem to matter.

Doesn't it take a while for them to confirm/verify your account? I remember going through the process a while ago (like years ago) and that took a while as well. But then again, I remember the times when I had to deposit money to my paypal account through my bankaccount.
