AN INVESTIGATION has been launched into a facility for autistic children in Malaga, after a child was seen trapped on a balcony.

After two videos were posted on Facebook showing an autistic child screaming, the Andalucian Government has opened a full-scale inquiry. In both recordings, the minor appears to have been neglected on a balcony with no access to the interior.

According to the man who had posted one of the videos the child had been trapped outside for two hours, but could have been left unattended for up to five.

“I called the police, but no one showed up,” he recalled.

The foundation, which opened in July 2015, is part of a government-led ‘City of Autism’ initiative. The €3.6m project aims to provide care for people living with an autistic spectrum disorder.

The manager of the facility, Norberto Nieto, has declined to speak on the matter.

“We are sending the documentation to the corresponding places,” he said. “At this moment we will not make an official statement until the facts have been gathered.”

Social Services have begun their investigation in the Southern Autism Foundation, but have stipulated it could take several days to complete.

It seems to me that money given to charities never reaches the people the charity claims to help.
i dont know...i support a few charities where the donations do get through to the end user-like the national autistic society-a lot of donations went to a sensory room they built in manchester some years ago,i used to be a user of it when i was under them for full time support.
i support irlam animals in distress sanctuary, the money goes straight to supporting the animals there,i got two of my precious babies from there [mr shadow,my cat and luna,my rabbit],they even bonded luna with my other rabbit;binky for free even though it took over a week of their time.
and i support the cats protection league, ive had multiple cats from them they are a awesome charity, i know a lot goes to advertising, the big bosses and making them look good like any massive charity but they do get the donations to the end user, you see that in all the homes they open up,and the operations they pay for of homeless injured cats instead of euthanising them which is what the RSPCA would do,.

I'm sure there are some with good intentions and results. The one in this thread though I believe is far from the only that doesn't do as it claims. I really like animals too. Irlam animals in distress does sound like a very good thing, though.
