Autism on Insight.

This was part of a really thought-provoking episode of insight aired tonight on SBS (Australian multicultural channel) which raised issues surrounding autism issues. It had many articulate and interesting speakers. Should be available on iview soon.

I watched this and found it lacking.
They didn't really address anything; a couple of people were able to say a couple of things on the topic but nothing in any great detail or any debate or with any substance. It merely raised a little bit of awareness on the topic but on an limited watched channel by select individuals. If someone was not directly affected by Autism, I doubt they tuned in, which is disappointing as it is the general public and education systems and the medical profession that needs to be made aware of the issues surrounding ASD so the 'stigma' is removed and assistance can be accessed by those in need.
It was brave of the kids with Autism to speak about their experiences, so a hat tip to them.

Well I'm glad it was insight, on SBS; and not 60 minutes or a current affair, on the commercial channels. But maybe those intelligent doctors were watching "the voice" or "7 year switch".
