Auditory Therapy?

Hey.
I'm currently doing the Johansen auditory stimulation Programme, which is supposed to improve hypersensitive hearing.
I was wondering if anyone has done this programme? or read about it?
When I had an audio gram done it showed I hear background noise 25 decibels louder :thumbsdown:

This is the first I'm hearing about it, but I'm very interested in how it turns out.

I'm a speech-language pathology student who probably has Asperger's...the irony is not lost on me. Anyway, we have to take classes in audiology as well, and as part of the class, we find each other's thresholds for both pure tones and speech, and then find our "uncomfortable loudness level"--which gives us a range of our functional hearing range in terms of intensity (loudness). My threshold for pure tones was -5dB in both ears (because dB is a ratio, it is possible to have dB in the negatives). Average is 0dB, and -5 is one step below, so my hearing is nothing spectacular, just a bit above average (one of my classmates had a -15dB threshold, a threshold above positive 15dB is considered a slight hearing loss). My threshold for speech was 10dB, which is average, and my threshold for understanding speech was 25dB, which is 5dB above average, so it's still within the range of normal. However, my uncomfortable loudness level was either 20 or 25dB lower than my classmates'. This means I have a lower functional range of hearing in terms of intensity because I cannot tolerate loud sounds.
