Asperger's or no? 22 female with symptoms

Hi there,

I'm a 22 year old female with symptoms of Aspergers. I usually am told I am "quiet" when I'm out with some friends. I feel like when I talk, no one listens, so why bother. I feel like I blend with different people, I can't just "be myself". I act however they act. I bite my lip and twirl my hair, I love sleep, I cry easily and can't control my emotion. I don't smile much and have been told people can't read me. I can read a page in a book 5 times and not know what I read. I take things too literally. I feel when I text someone I'm very up and happy, but in person, I'm not like that.. it's weird.

Do you think I have aspergers? I feel like I might have a slight case.. I feel like it would answer a lot of questions I have had about myself. Almost a relief. Please let me know.

Thank you!

Hello mindtrip, and welcome to AC. I'm not sure that anyone here would actually feel qualified to diagnose you. I think that research is probably in order for you to learn more about Aspergers, then you may be able to better assess where, if anyplace, you fall on the spectrum. I know that I learned quite a bit from AC and, combined with obsessive research, I was able to sort myself out in that regard. There are plenty of us who came here just for that reason, and found a community full of support.
