Any Autism related Conferences coming up in UK?

Topic.

In May 2003 I attended and spoke at a Conference in Cookstown, Northern Ireland, and would like to attend another similar Conference again, not necessarily to be a speaker, but to see what's going on in the world of Autism, I'd love to fly again if there's any in NI again but if there is anything going in England, I'd love to attend.

Can anyone help?

I don't really have the funds to fly to the USA for any events you see, unless the Conference Organisation was prepared to pay my Air fare both ways and for a nice Hotel (not too nice, 3 Star would do :D )

I was trying to find something last night. I am awaiting diagnosis in the UK and I am really struggling. I feel happy/sad about it like it will be a relief but I keep waking up crying as I thought for years I had a mood disorder and it would go away. I am in Cornwall and there is no specific help so I just need to speak to people who have been through this. I feel so alone and scared and I had no idea it would be like this. Sorry, probably a bit much but I woke up in tears and I don't know what to do. X

I'm going through diagnosis too at the moment and it's taking ages. I'm not sad to think that I'm different though, I'm more relieved to have an explanation to the reason why I am the way I am, why I don't really go out places or get involved with the things other people do. Although it does quite feel like it explains anything though.

But you know mood disorders are quite common with autism, particularly depression. There's a lot of things we can get depressed over, whether it's having a lack of purpose or feeling lonely. It might sound cliché but you're not alone with mood disorders here. A lot of us rate our current level of happiness in our lives around 3/10.

Thank you. I also feel relieved which is what I expected and am definitely depressed too. I just feel very overwhelmed by the whole thing and very mixed emotions and struggling to understand it all.

This site/app has been a godsend but I would love to meet some people in person. I've subscribed to this thread now so I'll check back and will let people know if I find anything.

Thanks again. I think I'm just having an especially wobbly day today.
