Anxiety Disorder = Depression!?

WTF!? Is that, somehow, 'true'? How's anxiety anything like depression, please? Not saying you can't be both at once but I'm being told they're the same thing!? Sorry, too ridiculous & confusing to think about that. Nobody to explain such nonsense to me, as usual!

They aren't the same thing at all. Where'd you hear that? Iv never had much problems with long-term depression but I battle an anxiety disorder everyday so I know that the anxiety can lead into depression. They're very much different but the anxiety can be a catalyst that jumpstarts depression. If it reaches a point of maximum stress then it can turn into depression by perpetuating a feeling of hopelesness. Im not sure how to explain it... basically the two are related but not the same.

My mum's version. Fortunately, sorted that out with support worker earlier. Big difference to me, saying the 2 things often go together to saying they are the same. To most people, I imagine, that must seem pedantic/ nitpicking. Thank, anyway!
