Anger at device

if anyone knows how to get the iPad to put sound through its #£%*#*}!&$*{'! headphone jack, or to actually recognize more than one bluetooth device, please post it here. (It recognizes the apple keyboard, but nothing else.) I have tried several headphones and an adapter and sound continues to come from the iPad's speakers. I almost decided to adjust the iPad with a large mallet. But thought I'd hold off on that a bit.
(The sad thing is, my old iPad worked just fine. The new iPad with the new "improved" OS has all sorts of stupid. )

I'll click that link and see if there's an update to fix the issue. Thanks Judge.

I'm just wondering about the firmware issue...at the bottom of the page. New iPad....older Bluetooth devices.

"Some Bluetooth accessories may require a firmware update for full compatibility with iOS devices such as a firmware update for AVRCP 1.4 Bluetooth compatibility."

It might explain the problem. Hope you can figure it out.

Is it still under warranty? Not getting sound to come out of the headphone jack means the jack is almost certainly faulty.

I have one of those brains that takes a while to get calm after I get upset at a machine (in this case iPad). I will tackle each one of both of your suggestions. Right now I need to go out for a walk/run to get the "aurghh" energy out.
Thanks
:)

I know what you mean. Once I cool off, my problem-solving abilities work pretty good!

Tech malfunctions can really get under my skin too. ;)
