Accepting facebook friends requests

Do you all like to have a lot of facebook friends? And how do you all feel about some of them? I notice some on the Autism Spectrum have over 2000 facebook friends and it really boggles my Autistic mind why someone on the Autism Spectrum would want that many friends.

As for me I don't want a lot of facebook friends, and I only have 58, 59 now. Most of my facebook friends are relatives or friends I know in real life. And the only time I will accept a friend's request is if he or she has something in common such as Autism, games, machinery, art, etc.

Some guy sent me a friend's request and I checked his profile page. He looked like a nice family man with his children and friends so I decided to accept his request which I will probably be unfriending pretty damn quick. I never seen any wife pics and he was doing the cooking in one pic.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize he is looking for a woman, but he may as well forget about this Autistic woman with strange behaviors, because I find human relationships incomprehensible. Any how, I click to accept this guy and a second later he was sending me private messages. I never answered and don't plan to.

After the initial rush, I stopped looking for friends and so I'm "stuck" at around 40. I couldn't handle many more, even though few actually post to their timeline. If asked, I'll probably accept, though not necessarily immediately.

I don't have many either, and don't accept friend requests from people I don't know. I only have an account, because I have family or one or two friends who I need to have a means of staying in touch with, otherwise its all rather pointless because I don't use Facebook for socialising. I want my facebook 'friendships' to be meaningful, or there's no point. I rarely interact with anyone there and rarely want to share things with others. However, I belong to a couple of private groups where prog rock news and new releases are shared, and I sometimes post there too.

Considering I've been on facebook since 2009, I don't have many facebook friends either and I just as leave have it that way. I have declined a lot of requests because I don't want a bunch of facebook friends to deal with. And I end up blocking some that irritate me with their gibberish sent to my inbox, them posting porn or posting endlessly where I have to scroll through a bunch of pages in order to see someone else's post.

I don't have too many Facebook friends and cautious who I accept. I guess some people like to have lots of friends. It depends on the purpose, like a business or writer, they need lots of friends. I usually check their profile, friends, messages before I accept them as a friend. There are strange people out there and we should be careful.

I actually prune my list pretty regularly. Although I haven't done it in a little while. I don't like the idea of staying connected with someone if I know I'll never have a reason to talk to them, or if I've tried to talk to them and they've ignored me. In practice they're not a connection anyways, so why keep the illusion that they are?

2000 fb friends? I only have 2 dozen and get too much junk. I haven't the time. I'd have to mute most of them to get rid of the static, but then what would be the point in friending them to start with? Ego tripping?
Only if you're advertising would you need that many, and then that's the least you would want.
My 2¢

I enjoy being around people, and I do mean physically, therefore I haven't placed a high priority on finding Facebook friends, but I do enjoy talking with them. I have 73.
