The only one I've seen myself was Castle Frankenstein in Darmstadt. There are actually multiple Castle Frankensteins in Germany as Frankenstein is a common place name. I liked this one between Bad Durkheim and Kaiserslaughten better as it was very overgrown and evocative when I visited it with just narrow footpaths thruout.

I just thought I'd share a tv-tip, it's a series called "Escape to the Chateau". A couple from Britain bought a small run-down castle in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France and renovated it. I have watched almost all the episodes and I think it's a very good series.

It sounds interesting but with my extra visual sensitivity I don't think I could handle that couple ;)
