A Year in Review

I am always looking for new ideas of what to do next. You can include days out etc. I live in London UK.

I will start this.

For me really November-April was a right off apart from Christmas and appointments as I didn't really go out. I had to do something about it when I read my Autism report again and saw I had quite high restricted interests scores and sensory needs just alone that staying at home wasn't cutting it so I forced myself to try to go out more.

April-

My birthday is in March, but in April I decided to have a late birthday day out at Dopamine Land in South Kensington in London. I found it ok, but I thought it was a bit overpriced perhaps and no match to the Wow illumination museum in Zurich which I have visited at an earlier point..

I also in April met with a old school friend in a coffee shop.

May

In May I took a Uber boat ride which is pretty cheap over the Thames in London and it was a good therapeutic experience for me.

Also, in May I went to London Zoo which I loved and I saw a Zebra, Lion, Tiger amongst other animals, but those were my highlights and on my must list to see in real life.

Also in May I went to a local fair and just did my favourite rides the Ghost Train and Bumper cars. The Ghost Train was now just a walk through, I think most are these days.

Also, in May my brother treated me and my sister to go and see Back to the Future. I liked the nostalgia aspect, but it was a bit too loud for me on a sensory level. Glad I went though.

June

I didn't do anything notable.

July

I went to see Fuerza Bruta but I don't think it is probably still running now. I got cheap seats and they reserved me a sit down seat. I liked it as it was only about an hour. I don't like being in places too long for me.

In July as well I also went to Hormiman museum. I did enjoy it. It was a cheap day out, but the aquarium was no rival to Sea Life, but it was still nice to see and get out.

August

In August it was a summers day out. I went to Dover Priory which was ok, I prefer the sand of Margate though. I stopped off at Kearnsey Abbey because I like to visit parks with water features, particularly waterfalls. I started this project of visiting parks in London with waterfalls and filming them and uploading them to Youtube in 2021 during lockdown. I saw my first waterfall in a park in 2019. I saw all the waterfalls in London parks and recorded them and uploaded them to Youtube and have extended my parks visits a bit out since then.

Also in August I was a bit disappointed. I was led to believe that there was a waterfall at Buckingham Palace and I went to film it for those purposes and it didn't exist lol..move on. I also found out they allowed no photography in the state rooms and I like to a take a photo and read the wording later in my own time and have a record myself.

I also had a day out at a park with my dad which was lovely at Chingford Plain.

September

Cinema cheap ticket on a Saturday morning usually. I saw Garfield and Inside Out 2.

My nephew turned 21 and my niece had her engagement party and I attended the joint party.

October

In October I attended a theatre about a boy with a stammer at Stratford Theatre East to see Wonderboy, it was interesting.

I also in October had a mini retreat day at Aylesford Priory which I found helpful.

November

In November I found another waterfall and visited there and recorded it and uploaded it to Youtube. I went to Dunorlan Park in Tonbridge Wells. I started a thread here on this forum about my waterfall project in the interests section.

I have done different projects. I did one for my other comorbid condition which I uploaded to Youtube and also I did one on my faith which was a good project for me and gave me lots to do. I shared my journey here on this website in a thread a while back now. That post can be found in the religious section about page 4 I imagine. It is not to be discussed here. I though printed some cards for that project and shared it with a few people at my church. Today though I also took it to its final step and did a separate ebook, so it was a complete project, I started it over two years ago.

Self projects though can give some people a sense of purpose especially those who are not in paid employment. I have got involved in one as well in the past for my Co condition with the NHS.

I would like to see Rapunzel as a panto to round of the year as I like to see a panto around now, but it is not being shown. They are just repeating Snow Queen and I have seen it in a local theatre to me. I am also thinking about going away a couple of days for a retreat. I cannot quite believe that 2025 is not that far off.

Seems like I have found a panto as well to be shown in a cinema. Just found it here. So glad i've seen it.
Royal Ballet and Opera

Today I am going to a wetlands near me, nothing major just time out watching the birds and lake in a tower wrapped up.

A nice thing to do is to visit conservatories and observatories at this time of the year if you like being in nature but it just gets too cold for you.
In London the Barbican and Kew Gardens are other places to consider indoors with there conversatories. Surely I would have visited Syon Park House conversatory now but it is closed to March.

Here are a few videos I have on Youtube on them. I really liked the Big Observatory in Brent London Wetlands and you see that in the video below.
The Otter's are fun as well, but whether you will see them in colder months you would have to check if interested.

Lol, I realised when I was editing some video descriptions on Youtube, that the Barbican conversatory that I shared here was just there own water feature lol.
I had this on unlisted and have just made it public again. I had no intention of creating a video with it when I filmed it and was a bit bored during COVID so strung something together. It departed from my original theme as such.

Most people here are from the US it seems and hardly anyone will be looking for a day out in London, but Observatories and conversatories can be nice places to go when the weather gets too cold to go a park.

I cannot believe how close we are now to 2025 and Australia will soon be there or they are already. Wowsa.
I hope 2025 is better for us all.
I left a lot out about my health jargon just to look for other things to do.

I ended up seeing a Christmas panto not far from me called A Christmas carol. I didn't know really anything about it and last minute just looked it up online. I saw it had about spirits past and thought ok I will give it a go. I wasn't very well when I went. One Spirit came out and I thought oh my this is too much for me. Shaking in my boots when they said 3 will be coming soon. I just had to exit at that point, it was just too much for me the thought of 3 of them.

I was admitted to hospital for carbon monoxide poisoning which I am recovering well now..

I also less than ten days ago saw a human circus acrobatic show in London which i enjoyed.

Christmas was very good.

This year I have accomplished everything writing wise which I aimed to do.

I have been informed as well about the inclusivegathering website with events and online stuff for autistic people. This is the link
https://www.inclusiveonlineactivities.com/

2025 will continue to be a year in progress.
I have debating going to Winter wonderland tomorrow but I am not keen at all on the entry fee and booking fee. It adds £7.80 before I have booked any rides making it more expensive for me than a day at Thorpe Park. Can you imagine some families racking £30 easily with Winter wonderland before they added any rides just from the entry and booking fee.

We’re still two hours thirty off. Down south they’re an hour closer because they do weird things with clocks. The Kiwis are there already.
