I wanted to share a very interesting movie I watched a few months ago called Taare Zameen Par. Its about a boy living in India struggles in school that has dyslexia. His parents didn't know at the time he had it so they decided to send him to boarding school hoping he would be straighten up there. One day he got a substitute teacher that once worked with children with developmental disabilities. When the teacher learned he is the only student struggling in class, he decided to view his historic school reports. Based on the boy marks, reviewing his writing materials and etc, he concluded this boy had dyslexia. This teacher spends extra time trying to help the boy improve in school. The director that created the movie spent lots of time doing research on children having dyslexia to make the movie as realistic as possible. I can somewhat relate to this boy as I had some related issues when I was in school.
Note this movie is 2 1/2 hours, but well worth the watch. This movie is in Hindi but they speak English for most of the movie and you can turn on subtitles for this movie. I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did. Note if your watching this movie on a mobile device, you might not be able to turn on subtitles.
