Yeah it can be difficult when people bring up kids and ask about kids. But that's just the way life is, it will happen, that's something we have to learn to deal with. If you allow it to push you down every time it happens, it will suck a lot. Be strong, deal with it and move on. Don't let it pull you down.

The perceptions men my age who are single and child free in the crummy culture I live in aren’t the most pleasant. They range from “That guy is a loser.”, “Maybe he’s gay and hiding it?”, and “He might be a serial killer in waiting.”
