I hate those things, they drive me nuts. I prefer to visit a normal checkout with a human operating it all for me.

I feel like they are always yelling at me. The volume is always so loud, too. And sometimes there are multiple ones yelling at different people all at the same time. It penetrates my loop earplugs and makes my brain go funny.

I think it’s one of my pet peeves: I hate it when any machine talks to me. I don’t like Siri, Google Home, or anything like that.

Reminds me of my brother's old Dodge. Every time you simply open the door, it says, "A door is ajar." With my brother responding, "No, a door is a door!" :rolleyes:

Yeah, I find myself telling those stupid machines to "shut up" when the computer inevitably complains about something I did that it doesn't like. And even then stores are starting to admit that shoplifters can easily sneak out since there is hardly anybody manning the front end (cashier) of the store. Walmart has a person to check receipts at the door at least, but even that doesn't deter.
