But how do I prevent it?

Distraction! Do other fun things that create dopamine. Also you could do simple things like signing out of your Amazon account so that it takes one more step to get to it, giving you time to think if you really want to. Also, you could remove your credit card so that it’s annoying to have to type it in and purchase things.

Here's something to consider - what excites you - is it the browsing/buying, or the anticipation of getting something in the mail?

If it's the latter, consider signing up for a postcard or gift exchange group. Costs can be relatively minimal, and you never know when you're getting something.

I have screen time enabled on my iPad, meaning I can set apps to be allowed always after a certain time or render them only useable while downtime isn’t enabled. Should I do that?

@VictorR both. Ever since I’ve stopped eating junk food as often as I did prior, my brain finds a new addiction. I’m randy marshing my life right now :(

Get a gym membership and use it. Become addicted to exercise. I am trying to apply that in my own life. It is not as fun as shopping. Bloody hell.

@Metalhead i can go for a walk around my dad’s neighborhood if I wanted to. Nearest gym is 15-20 minutes away though which is kinda sad
