Just bc other people do it doesn't mean i have to as well. I work from Monday to Friday. I am not going to sacrifice my weekend just so i can keep this job

If you want to be fired, its perfectly fine not to do extra hours.

I don't want to be fired, but i don't want to think and stress about my job when working hours are over. I already am stressed enough, i need a break on weekends.

In my full job I had to work on the weekends, because otherwise I would have had nothing for the week and there was always something in my break slots (which I didnt have a lot of) that would prevent me from doing any of the work during the week. I had too much and it was a lot.

I was always stressed. Really did not know how to do down time. Anytime, i mentioned it, I would have more given. It was not just me who felt stressed with the additioal work but i had a lot more due to the lack of a real handover. Whilst that is good experience and I did more than was necessary, the whole year of that job was also very difficult.

I think it is too harsh and stressful to work for 45 hours a week. Especially as an autistic person.

I learned what works for me. That I take my care for myself because if you dont do it. No one else will. However, if you feel like you need breaks on the weekend, simply dont do the work on the weekend. It’s not worth it if it’s causing a lot of stress.

I talked with my therapist about this and she Agreed. I decided to stop bringing work home on the weekends. If it doesn't work out, i will get fired and that's it. I am already doing a lot. And you are absolutely right that we have to take care of ourselves bc no one else will

I agree. I was working the same plus several additional non paid hours after long hours of work and it was stressful for me. Even if I was not ASD. It would be stressful which is what i was told by A colleague who was also annoyed with how she was treated and she was not ASD.
