Sweet potato, not regular potato. Lol. Some people call them yams. The one I have is actually called "purple yam ice cream" and it's literally purple. Lol. The one I have is from Trader Joe's but it's basically this:

I used to be a nanny for a Filipino family. Go to an Asian or Islander market, and look for "corn" ice cream. There are little chunks of corn and rice in it. OMG it sounds weird, but is so good. Thank me later.

Also, a popular middle eastern/ Indian ice cream is "Kulfi". I think it's pistacio/ cardamom. That is quite a delicious one too!

@Forest Cat , sweet potato is a North American root vegetable. It is sweet. If you have ever eaten pumpkin pie, it tastes like that. On holidays, many people bake sweet potatoes with butter, brown sugar, marshmallows, and sometimes peaches too. It is an American Tradition.

I thnk this purple yam is probably from Asia. People of African descent, when transported to the Americas, recognized the sweet potato as a similar crop to their native foods. They brought with them their rich food traditions, and Sweet Potato casserole and Sweet Potato pie was born.
