Should I just get a regular drink and wait maybe an hour or so at the place to see if it’s worth my energy?

Get a glass of Coca-Cola. They can't tell if it's a rum & Coke or not. Also, it actually doesn't taste like garbage.

Also, don't sit in the bar like a bump on a log waiting for women to throw themselves at you; go walk around, talk to people, smile a bit, listen to the band (I HOPE this bar has musicians & not just tv.) Do bad karaoke. Enjoy it As a Bar instead of a matchmakers' shop.

I was out one night on the bicycle--it was raining so I went back by the local watering-hole & just popped in around 10:30 PM listening to the two guys playing the guitar & singing. The barmaid offered me beer (it's her job) but I declined, just chilled out and listened, and decided it was worth the visit but I don't want to drink in public.
