That's actually a great idea, that you figured this out. I don't know what the dating scene is like in Austin. The full-time job does impress women--and it'd not hurt, even if the girls don't show up.
Wish I could come down to Austin; I'd be your wingman if you didn't mind.

I don’t live in Austin. I’ve only just visited. I did attend two speed dating events there and the fact I only worked part time surprised most people.

Ah. Well, wherever it is you live, still. You'll do fine.
I am not NEAR heterosexual enough for speed-dating to work for me. I'd rather go without than go hastily.
So what would you do if you could do a full-time job?

I wonder what kind of full-time job you'd desire. There's got to be something you'd fit in at.

I’ve never had a concrete vision. Early on, I either thought I was going to be a little boy forever or I was going to be like my parents: loud and sharply dressed. However, a career never entered the equation; I didn’t even know what my parents did until later on.

Oh gosh! Well? You can dress as sharp as you like with $30 and Goodwill. As for a career--any old full-time job is a start. And with your part-time experience, you're more attractive to a boss than you would be if you were perpetually unemployed.

You're way too chill to be loud like your parents. I hate to make assumptions but sometimes I get the impression your mother has a bit of the uber-Karen about her.

I had an interest in dinosaurs and I thought I would “grow up” to be a “fossil digger.” I was often derided for this and it drifted from my mind. My father then suggested I go to A&M and become an animal vet like my half-sisters. He stressed knowing math for the job and my difficulties with math in high school made me disregard that path.

Before I disregarded the animal vet thing, I thought I would simultaneously do both vet work and make music as well. When the math difficulties became apparent and I became clinically depressed when life was just not going the way I wanted it to go, I didn’t even think of the future anymore unless it involved a scenario I feared.
