Before the pandemic, people actually wanted to go out and socialize. After it hit, I only see people who have friends as well as relationship partners going out. My attempts to make new friends and try to get a date all get rebuffed.

I was hanging out this morning at the diner reading the Hartford Courant and drinking coffee--talking to folks I've never met. Even got invited to join the local committee (like the chamber of commerce) by a guy I've never met who's on the board. That's not dating but that was some fun socializing.

So I'm going to say I don't know about dating but I've had enough things lately where socializing is possible. Coffee shops turned into a nice way to talk to guys & girls my age; the local diner is a great place to hang out with cool older folks and catch up on local happenings.
