Try a white noise machine. I have mild tinnitus and I find that white noise helps. I use an air cleaner to produce it, but there are specifically made machines that make white noise.

I do exactly as @oregano said. “Low” setting at night is wonderful for hidimg tinnitus. Soporific and soothing.

If buying a new thing isn't in the budget right now, but you already have a television or radio, you could try having that on very low. I do that and it helps. Also remember to eat regularly.

@oregano mine can't be drowned out past a certain point I have tried. It's just gotten bad recently due to stress probably and a chronic illness flare up. Thank you for the suggestion though.
