How do you respond to Compliments...?

Too often I find that compliments are partly negative. Compliment- criticism- compliment. The are wrapped around criticism so it rather makes them insincere. Unfortunately it takes me a while to decode this kind of double speak so I rarely get to respond in a timely fashion.

    What's Your Special Interests?

I have Gripping beasts Saga and am getting a Bolt Action Army ready (Warlord Games). Yes I spend rather more time making stuff and reading about the hobby than doing it!

I know this will sound bad, but...

Thank for saying it as you see it. We appreciate that because honesty and being straight forward is a quality that we Auties tend to have. So expect that we will continue to tell you in a direct fashion what we think. You need to look at your qualities. Being on the spectrum gives you some...

2 shows at the local Theatre in January I'd like to see - Which 1 to go to? I can't afford both!

My daughter (who has a special interest in musical theatre) didn't rate Hairspray stage show as well as the movie. I don't think she has seen Georges MM. It is getting hard to keep track of the one she has seen. I haven't been to either. My favourite recently was School of Rock. That was far...

    Humiliated for stimming

It is great to encounter another hair twiddler. I had the habbit 'broken' when I was young. I've reverted now and couldn't care less what anyone else thinks.

    Comparing myself to others

There is nothing wrong with comparing in its self. It is compare and despair that is the problem. We need to remind ourselves we have strengths (as well as weaknesses). There is probably another genius who is better at something than we are. We can't be good at everything. But what we might...

    What's Your Special Interests?

I do wargaming- so that is lots of special interests depending what period/ universe the games happen to focusing on. I have had a long special interest in theology. I can't really shop without taking a special interested in the things I'm buying.

Are you looking forward to Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi?

I introduced my son to the Dark Side of franchise at a young age and he owns all the films for us. Looking forward to seeing the new one on the big screen. I hope I don't get motion sickness from the flight sequences again.

    Ruined Christmas for myself

Ruined Christmas? I think that is a bit extreme. It isn't all about presents anyway. Mind you what you did is a bit more high tech than searching under their bed. Time to plead that you are one of those hackers that probe security in order to improve it. I would be hacked off if one of my...

Depressive personality: how do you live with it?

Ouch- being told you have a depressive personality is a hard bit of news to digest. I've been on ADs for the best part of 8 years and I had episodes of being on them before that. I'm now cutting down to half dose reasonably successfully. But being happy? I would say that I rarely am. Perhaps...

Online Dating entirely useless for most men?

Well one thing for sure is that a < 1% chance on a dating site is a lot greater chance than not doing anything at all.

Why is aspergers considered a "disability"

I guess you haven't got to the stage in life where these really start to matter. And they are going to start to matter a lot more. Automations and Artificial intelligence will mean that many jobs and much more of life will rely on social interaction and providing 'customer experiences' that we...

Thank Spectrum! I didn’t buy anything this Black Friday

Dang! I forgot about Cyber Monday. Offers and promotions have been rolling for at least a week now so I guess it is going to be less important.
