How can I make it happen at my age?

If you are indeed near a large city, there should be some secular humanist/agnostic groups around, even if it is bible belt. I'm a non-religious person in such an area and those groups are in my city. Search them out. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

    Histamine intolerance

I too am histamine intolerant. Have known so for the past couple years. I am now 70 yo and yes my entire life would have been much better had I been diagnosed as a child. I pretty well have my diet straightened out now. I simply had to make a list of which foods are out and which ones I can...

    Duck Duck Go

Use any search engine and put in the search field: search engines That should bring up lists of search engines with reviews, backstories, biases, etc. Plenty to let you choose one as your favorite.

    I'm so stumped

You might check out the Campbell Interest and Skill Survey. (Link is too long to post here so have to Google it.) Once you answer the questions in the survey, they provide several career options that it feels you would be comfortable delving into. Its not free but its not expensive either. Hope...

    Employment challenges and Burnout

Astrid-X, First, welcome to the forums. Networking is what I would do (and have done) in such a situation. This involves contacting professionals in your field and asking for 15 minutes to discuss options you could pursue given your background. I did this in person back in pre-internet days but...

Clocks, shoe laces, number recognition, sense of direction

I learned to tell time in the 1960s when there were no digitals only analogue. And I had a lot of trouble grasping it until I realized it was due to sloppiness on the part of the instructor. They would use a dummy clock (one with only hands, no internal workings, or a hastily drawn circle on a...

    Pretend play

The fact that you were spinning definitely places you on the spectrum. I did a lot of spinning too as a little boy. And the fact that you played with your dolls well into your teens is very indicative too. I was the youngest of three boys so there were no dolls at my house (altho I remember...

Being friends with a psychotic person

My high school girlfriend was quite schizophrenic. Of course I didn't know it at the time; I realized it a few years later at university when we covered it in Intro to Psychology. Needless to say I was picking my jaw off the floor! I remember her doing things like lapsing into baby talk...

    Constantly Itchy!!!

About 20 years ago I came down with a similar skin condition, a systemic rash that itched horribly and if I did scratch a place it would bleed. After playing the doctor game (sorry, I am not a big fan of the medical profession in the US) for 18-24 months, being miserable the whole time, I took...

    Auutism and severe insomnia.

Our reasons for not sleeping are many, no doubt. But what I have found I have trouble with is getting the right temperature. I know you're saying if you're too cold add another layer, or too hot shed one. What confuses the situation is that I don't FEEL too hot or cold which I think is an autism...

Cooking, are you good or do you suck at it?

I guess I'm a fairly good cook. I'm on an unusual and quite restricted diet so things have to be prepared a certain way. I bake most of the bread I eat. If I'm up to it I will cook meals fresh; if not, I have stuff frozen in individual servings I can call on. When you live alone, you have to...

Muh ha ha! I have them all fooled! Oh wait... Help I don't know what I'm doing!

I'm very happy for you! I say just let things be and ride that wave as long as you can. You seem to be in a good position where everyone around is happy with your work and the people are easy to get along with. And that position just requires some common sense, something you seem to have plenty...
