    Asbestos Concern

As I have researched more about asbestos, I've learned that farmers can be an at risk occupation for asbestos exposure. Many farm buildings have building materials that contained asbestos along with farming supplies and soil conditioners. Additionally, it may be found in machinery. Growing up...

    Asbestos Concern

I have a question on this. The ash/debris pile is outside and as a result it has been rained on a few times. Once it dries out, wouldn't the asbestos dust remain and easily kicked up into the air? I ask because my dad has already began piling up wood and other items on the ash pile to prepare...

    Asbestos Concern

    This sounds awful.

    Asbestos Concern

I appreciate your input and understand what you are saying in that it can be harmful to constantly be worried about potential risks. And lowers quality of life. But at the same time there really is no upside to taking risks with asbestos. So in that case, it makes sense to take steps to...

    Asbestos Concern

Yes I do agree there are many other risks, such as from excessive use of pesticides. Yes, it is possible my concern is higher than necessary, but the risk from asbestos does seem like something that can be harmful even with short term exposure.

    Asbestos Concern

As far as I know those pieces were all there was, but it is possible there was more. Do you think there would be asbestos fibers in the ash itself, or would it be identifiable as part of a larger piece that did not burn? I don't really trust my dad to be reliable in terms of accurately...

    Training Sleep: A New Experiment

Sleep has been a constant struggle for me too. My watch, while probably not 100% accurate, tends to indicate I don't get enough REM sleep and that I spend a lot of time awake during the night - sometimes I am aware of it, and other times I am not.

    Asbestos Concern

I have some concerns regarding asbestos at my parent's farm. Does anyone here have knowledge/experience dealing with asbestos and the potential dangers/risks? An old farm building fell down a year or two ago during a storm. Sometime after that, my brothers and I along with my dad spent some...

    Healthcare worker's opinion on autism

Wow, talk about a clueless doctor. You didn't fit what his image of what autism is. You handled the situation well. It must have felt so invalidating in the moment. Sad that this individual went to medical school and as I would expect more from someone like that. But anyone can be ignorant...

    The misinformation becomes deeper.

I'm not sure if there is a link or not. I imagine it is much more complicated than what is being claimed. But I appreciate the government focusing and discussing autism because I feel like the issues that come with autism have not received enough serious attention from the federal government...

    Love Is Not Enough!!

100% agree with this and have felt this way many times of a sense of not being needed. And it can apply to either career or relationships (or in the form of lack of relationships). And any sort of activity. Sometimes there has been a feeling of the opposite of being needed - a feeling of...

    Love Is Not Enough!!

I think the challenge is that many of our gifts are hidden from plain view. Others have difficulty seeing them or just don't understand them. In job interviews, it is difficult to explain some of my skillset sometimes because the interviewer probably doesn't have a full concept of the unique...

Autisim spectrum as explained by a duck

Hahaha the hyper fixation got me. Super focused on something for days, weeks, months, or maybe even years and suddenly it can just disappear. Sometimes forever, but sometimes it will come back again and again.

    Love Is Not Enough!!

Your post is beautifully written. Thanks for sharing your observations and insights. Based on your message, I take it you are not on the spectrum. Many of us got through the struggle of finding the right balance of just being ourselves and with masking. Some masking is usually required...

    The workforce is equalizing!

I imagine the number has increased. But most men I know are not interested in being stay and home dads. For me personally, I wouldn't want to be a full time stay at home dad. No one would want me to be their primary caregiver, lol. I'm much more suited for the working world, although that is...
