I feel angry when strangers approach me.

Develop a stock response to small talk that you can give with some imitation of enthusiasm. "Hello," is good. Nobody really cares about how you are doing, or what you did that weekend. The just want to be acknowledged, so acknowledge them and move on. It gets easier. If there's a few people you...

    Chronic depression.

Depression isn't just one thing. It's never just a chemical imbalance or just a psychological issue. It's a bunch of factors that all bear on each other. Even the chemical component isn't always the same. The things that help one person might make another worse. Some SSRIs reduce dopamine, and...

Over-packing my work bag! Do you do this?

Is it causing problems? If it bugs you, and you can't cut it down on your own, see a therapist. It's their job to help you. If it doesn't cause you any problems, you'll just be the most prepared guy on the road. You might try cutting down to two pens, just to show yourself that you can.

    Are you "paranoid"

I'm anti-paranoid. Not paranoid enough. I lost a job once because of it. People told me someone was out to get me, and I blew them off. I just never saw myself as being important enough to plot against. As far as computer stuff goes, I think I have an accurate paranoia level, since I worked in...

    So frustrated!

Sometimes the relationship has to stop. There will be other relationships for both of you. The thing to ask yourself is, are you a lover or a therapist in this relationship. Whatever his issues turn out to be, it sounds like a job for a professional.

    Driver license

Remember that it is OK to not drive. Definitely give it a try, because it's good to have a license even if you don't drive much. But if, after training and practice, you don't feel up to it, just don't drive. I had to stop driving a few years ago for non spectrum reasons, and now I drive...

    A life of loneliness

There's a saying, Only choose a date who would make a good mate. This is probably the worst advice ever. And I think it might be part of your problem. If you are completely focused on a lifelong relationship, your options shrink down to nothing really easily. No one ever finds someone who checks...

    an aspergers society

To say that we are the next step in evolution, may be a bit grandiose, but we do seem to be the ones adapted to deal with technology. We see the world more concretely, and NTs see it more animistically.

    Communication, why I suck.

The thing about NT communication, is that what they call subtext IS the text. Everything that is important to them is communicated nonverbally, leaving words for things like the weather, that they don't care about. This is why, when they ask what you what you did over the weekend, you want to...

Is objective truth theoretical or actual?

I find that when people say truth is relative, they usually aren't very clear on what the words "truth" and "relative" mean. Truth means things exist or events happen, or they don't. Relative means that properties can be different under different circumstances, as compared to a standard...

Sister and her boyfriend need help

The phrase, "beating a dead horse" comes to mind. Once you have said all that needs to be said, it's up to her now. There's worse things in life than making relationship mistakes. It's pretty far up the list, but there's worse.

Is objective truth theoretical or actual?

We all experience what it would be like without objective reality, in dreams. Objects appear and disappear. People become other people. You often move from place to place with no transition. Physical laws are just a suggestion. You can't prove that waking life is based on an objective reality...

"You use autism as an excuse."

Starting in the 40s and 50s, people became obsessed with extroversion. All those books like, How to Win Friends and Influence People, came out then, largely aimed at salesmen but picked up by society at large. Maybe more of an American thing, but I think it happened some everywhere. If you...

My list of Aspie (ASD level 1) symptoms/characteristics

That pretty much nailed me. Except for the OCD bit. Never had any of that. And I often have too little anxiety for my own good, if that makes any sense. I do have social issues, but not exactly anxiety. The closest I get to anxiety is when I get really overwhelmed, usually with sound.

Is it possible to "outgrow" autism?

People change over time. You might get better or worse, but you aren't likely to change major brain physiology. And you can learn how to act a bit more NT over time, and learn to deal with upsetting situations better. But do you really want to be NT? I don't. I just don't like how they think...
