From 0 to Bonding in 10 seconds

Hahaha! Yes, I feel for you both in that situation. Richard's a decent name though -- I guess it could have been a lot worse! :tongueout:

How is everyone today? (an ongoing question...)

Very tired... zombified! How are you?

    Childhood quirks.

Behaviours considered quirky by others...I used long words, and liked stuff people never expected me to like because I didn't adjust every part of me to fit the idea of someone who likes that particular band, hobby, etc. Maybe because I just didn't link outward image and interests in that way...

    Weird irritating things

About the food touching...I know it must be a huge inconvenience when it comes to other's reactions, but I think (as I'm sure you know deep down anyway!) that if you have always hated food touching and mixing in that way it's probably something you do with your tastebuds and maybe a sensitivity...

    Aspie Newbie, diagnosed late.

Hi Bronwyn, Welcome to the forum. I'm new too. You're dealing with a lot, in a stage of your life that is already very stressful to start off with. I hope that in time the pain of your heartbreak will ease. I agree with other posters that many are diagnosed in their 30s, 40s and beyond --...

Have the Mental Health Professionals Failed the Autism Community?

Despite all the caring, extremely hard working and well-meaning professionals out there, the system just doesn't work and the cuts to the services in the UK have made my county's service officially not fit for purpose... We have all the problems that non-autistics have with mental health...

    Hi

Thank you! I'm sure I will. I'm trying to get a full assessment at the moment but from what I've heard from others it's the usual kind of story... I would like the diagnosis just to have confirmation of what I know to be true and what has caused me so many problems, but it's not something I'd...

    Do you use tobacco products?

I started smoking at 25 (yes, should have known better) to deal with stress. It was also a bit of a social crutch - I felt a tiny bit less awkward when holding one?! But I never properly took it up thank god and was smoking about 8-10 a day at my absolute worst. And that was only on and off for...

    My Art

Interesting compositions and there's a lot of character in the every day items you've depicted in some of your paintings. I like Concentration 8: Leather, and Window: you've given plain surfaces like the wall a lot of life! Unique use of colour as well!

    Hi

Hi, I'm Liz, 27, and one of the many yet to be diagnosed aspies who've been left to sink or swim! I'm 99.9 per cent sure I have the condition. I'm currently studying psychology and into art and music. I look forward to meeting you all :)
