    The last thing you bought?

Looks to me like that is backwards; he is an artist, but doesn't know it.

Realizing you're autistic, how'd you react?

I was self-diagnosed. I guess this makes a difference for many people. I never knew about autism throughout my life until 2019. I come from a community that is very backwards. I was diagnosed as mentally retarded. Unfortunately, in my school, in my family and in my community being different in...

Why many autistic people focus on that?

Very good question! I didn't learn I was autistic until my late 60's. Prior to that, I had no idea what autism was, nor did anyone within my entire "universe". However, since early childhood I knew something was very "wrong" with me. Throughout school I was called many things, but I guess weird...

Do Autistic People Have No Empathy?

At least in my case, that couldn't be further from the truth. I have many PTSD's induced by overwhelming empathy. I literally feel the plight, pain and suffering of others. Although I feel it much stronger for non-human people than humans. Regardless of suffering, I also feel the emotions of...

Top Down Learning Vs Bottom Up Learning

I find this quite interesting because I'm not sure where I fit. I have almost never been able to be taught. Actually, I can learn, I just can't be taught so class room learning is a major killer for me. I have always suffered a debilitating fear of any teacher. Also, my mental processing is...

    Face awareness

Yes, stereotyping, regardless of subject, is very upsetting for me. Regardless if I am being stereotyped or if I see anyone else stereotyped, it affects me deeply.

    Lifetime recurring nightmare finally understood

Yes, I think so. I think what you describe is along the line of my experience. Not exactly the same, but in the same category. Anxiety for me, especially social anxiety does not go away for me. Even if I can't remember the moment, the anxiety is still in the mix decades later.

    I don't see my autism a problem

Autism for me has been a massive "double-edged sword". Earlier in life it was perpetual trauma. Much of that has resulted in unrelenting PTSD's. I guess about 75% of my life was worse than living a perpetual nightmare. Beyond anything Stephen King could ever dream up. I always enjoyed the...

    Face awareness

I saw this website about autistic and non-autistic face differences for different emotions. https://medicalxpress.com/news/2026-01-autistic-differ-anger-happiness-sadness.html I have watched it over and over, but I am unable to distinguish any significant differences in any of the avatars...

I have a few employees with autism and asperger's

I was hired at an electronics design firm, that does contract work for electronic manufactures, military, medical, etc. Due to my autistic social blindness and anxieties, I was never able to acquire a degree, thus I could not be an engineer - my childhood dream. I hired on as a technician to...

My plan of action against pervasive discontent.

I have to say, I'm very impressed. You figure out the problem, then figure out the solution. That's how success always works.

    Sensitivity repeat exposure

Thank you so much for that excellent explanation. I don't think I "confused" them. I just wasn't clear on the definitions. Still learning!!
