    Your anxiety busters...

What's helped me is to stay away from foods that are naturally high in tyramine. The adrenal glands respond to tyramine by sending catecholamines into the bloodstream, which are fight-or-flight chemicals that act both as hormones and neurotransmitters. These messenger chemicals include dopamine...

    Your anxiety busters...

... Please, rid your brain of this thought. I was diagnosed late in life with ASD level 1. If I had only known earlier, I would not have drank heavily for as long as I did (over 20 years). I also found that "booze actually makes the bad feelings go away." In particular, the anxiety. Then, after...

Just curious.. are aspies generally insecure about their physical appearance?

Most definitely. I agree 100%. Just wondering how much insecurity regarding physical appearance affects those higher on the spectrum.

For those of you with difficulty reading

I find fiction just about impossible for me to get into. I am so left brain dominant to the point where I only find non-fiction interesting. Every time I try to read fiction, I keep reminding myself that the story didn't actually happen and I consequently lose interest. I love fictional movies...

Just curious.. are aspies generally insecure about their physical appearance?

I was officially diagnosed in 2016 with ASD level 1. Long before that, for just about my entire life actually, I have felt insecure about the way I looked. It's not that I am deformed or hideous in any way. In fact, it seems as if I am engaging in some sort of body dysmorphic disorder in which I...

My list of Aspie (ASD level 1) symptoms/characteristics

Yes, that confused me as well for a long time. In fact, that is precisely why I was not diagnosed with ASD until late in life. I always believed that I simply had social anxiety or generalized anxiety disorder and of course OCD. But when you start looking at all the other traits of ASD such as...

My list of Aspie (ASD level 1) symptoms/characteristics

Hello, I was diagnosed with ASD (level 1) a couple of years ago at the age of 47. Since then, my wife (NT) periodically assumes that others in my family might have it as well. So, I compiled a list of 23 common symptoms and attributes that I feel myself and most Aspies can relate to. If whoever...
