How do I stop hating other teenagers?

Most of the people in person who I'd call a friend is/has been either older or younger than I. I'd say I feel more ease with them. I know quite a bit of people through online chat as well, people who I've never met in person and a bit I don't know how old they are which is nice.

    the annoyance of textures

I get an upset stomach to various meats. The main thing I can't to is seafood, just the smell alone often makes me start gagging. Although I'm not a vegetarian, at various places I go for that to risk the chance of getting something I can't end up eating.

Programmer... Or at least use to be, for awhile.

I've been thinking of doing something similar. I do have a computer and the software to write the code in and other relevant things (e.g., developer accounts, etc.), but I am currently not able to think of something to create. I can develop for Apple devices, I can probably do for Android as well.

How do you deal with overclocking?

For as long as I can recall, I normally eat dinner right before going to sleep and 99.999% of that time it is eaten in bed... So, I tend to associate the two. Unless I'm already working on my current project at that time (which often leads to either no sleep, or, shifts my day/night hours...

    Starting a social group

What goals are you aiming for here? I'm assuming the members component consists of people with an ASD. What's your relationship with the AS?

    Car Park

For those who drive: you're going to the shops, you've gotten into the car park and now looking for some place to park your car. Do you prefer parking as close to the front as you can, have no preference or even if there is an empty space directly in the front you look for a spot in the back or...

    Bedtime rituals

Anyone have any? Since having them on DVDs back in the mid 2000s (and now with services like Netflix, using just your remote control), I go to sleep with an episode of Star Trek on in the background. Volume at where it distracts me from the constant thoughts, but not where I actively follow the...

    Thinking in pictures vs ?

For me I do in various ways, varying with what I'm thinking about. I also get stuck with translating both to and from words into other forms such as mental feeling. I tend to look at words (e.g., from an instruction manual) for how they are defined and visualise the end result from the words...

    Aspies and Dating

I can't say I've really done dating (in the traditional sense?), but have been in many relationships over the years, usually being all or nothing and then only lasting a few weeks or maybe months. Mostly this would be a result from one day becoming interested in being in a relationship where I...

    Foods

Anyone else have where xyz sounds good until it's right in front of you? For me, example, I'll get a chicken sandwich. I was craving it as I was waiting for it. Its now right in front of me and it might be the way it smells, or randomly the image of a chicken is in my head and my appetite is...

What are you eating or drinking?

Drinking right now from one of those smaller 7.5oz/222ml cans of coke.

Do you use the internet to socialize?

Started that in the BBS days when I was 12 I believe in the mid 90s. IRC replaced that when I was new to the Internet (during the dialup days). Unfortunately, places like Facebook have slowly been bringing IRC to a death. I have made a few friends over Facebook although (e.g., saying hi to...

    Fingernails

For as long as I can remember, when I cut my fingernails, I'd cut them short to where they'd feel sore to the touch. I like the sore feeling after I feel rubbing my fingers together and miss it as it diminishes. Anyone else?

How are your relations with your non-aspie siblings?

I have two younger sisters (twins), five years younger than I. I haven't had much contact with them since I turned 18 (divorced parents, went from living with dad to mum at that time). I know they have careers, kids and marriages. They're "friends" on Facebook and I sometimes see stuff from...

    What's the point?

I wish people would stop sending me mixed messages. I try forming friendships with people in person but I always feel I'm putting in more than I'm receiving. Everything seems fine at first, everything seems normal and then it all goes away, but they deny any problems.
