When did everyone receive their diagnosis??? (If you are diagnosed)

5 day ago... I’m 19. Tier 1 ASD though basically just aspergers, dunno why they made aspergers and autism into an ASD spectrum. I feel like aspergers is different than functional ASD in how it manifests, but there are similarities.

National Autistic Society video: Could You Stand the Rejection?

Great video, love the subtlety of it. Though some of the text is hard to read when it comes up. Plus I feel like it doesn’t stay long enough for me to process it before it leaves :). As much as I think it does a good job I feel like people who don’t know what to look for/don’t understand, won’t...

    ASD test?

Lol, it was fine, I’m used to taking 2 hr tests from college/finals. I took a small break 1/2 through and ate a protein bar. The first part was 2 tests that were about 200 questions, they were more relating to how I perceived myself and my perceptions, then a second part about OCD stuff, then...

    ASD test?

Yeah the MMPI was one of many, and as for these guys being specialists, I’m not 100% certain but I also think/hope they know what they are doing. I was seeing a psychiatrist and he came to his own conclusion about ASD and said if I wanted to pursue diagnosis he could give a referral and then...

    ASD test?

I understand that there is more too it than just the test, but it still feels off. The person was watching and writing stuff down for what I call the IQish part, but at the same time it bothers me because it doesn’t seem like he was writing much. Plus the person conducting the test wasn’t the...

    ASD test?

Oh and another thing. The IQish part of the test there were so many questions that were just recalling questions. Examples: what is the midpoint between the N and S pole (equator)? Who was Ghandi (too many words)? Who wrote hamlet(still don’t know, I kind of want to look it up now)? And many...

    ASD test?

So for a while now I’ve been itching to get a diagnosis (after talking to 3 different psychiatrists all saying they think I have ASD/would be aspergers). I’ve finally gone and done it. It’s less than 40 minutes after I finished and it honestly felt a bit lackluster. The first portion was a...

Which one Are you: Pessimist, Optimst, or Realist?

I went with optimist, but this is mostly because other people call me optimistic. Tbh I don’t see myself as an optimist but it seems everyone else does. Now that I am actually thinking more in depth, I notice that my actions are very much optimistic. I tend to encourage others to think better of...

If cats and dogs don't have to eat vegetables why do I?

Diet and nutrition is definitely an interesting thing. Another point is that a lot of digestion has to do with bacteria in your intestines. This bacteria and what they can digest is very important in determining what foods you can digest. For example many poison immunities that animals have are...

    Having a girlfriend

I’m 19 and a junior in college, I’m in the same boat as many here, never have had a girlfriend, never kissed someone or held hands, etc. I am glad this thread started as I was actually thinking of starting something similar. I’ll just put it here. Whenever I meet someone that I might want to get...

I just don’t understand people sometimes...

So I’ve recently been struggling a lot with feeling like anyone cares about me. A group of “friends” I have use a group chat to converse and stuff. To me it seems like no one ever cares about what I say, and when someone does respond it is generally harshly due to a misunderstanding. I decided...

    Mental Stimming

I’m not sure if this would be considered a mental stim, but I find that I tend to repeatedly plan the same thing over again. Like in the shower I tend to list everything I need to get done for that day over and over in my head because it helps me focus, not because I need to remember it. I also...

When someone says "I never said that" or "I don't remember saying that..."

I have this problem so often with my brother, though usually it’s reversed. He thinks that I said something that I didn’t actually say. It makes communicating with him 10x harder than other people because he takes meanings out of my words that make no sense to me. Then they get filtered through...

    How to ask someone out?

Yeah, thanks for the advice. We got a surprise hw assignment due tomorrow so she asked me if I wanted to work on it together. I said yeah and then during conversation she mentioned something about having a boyfriend :( Bad luck I guess.

    How to ask someone out?

I just feel like asking out right seems kind of weird. There are 4 more weeks in the class so I have some time. I try to be her lab partner in lab, so that is helpful for getting us talking. Also so I asked about the studying and unfortunately she was busy after the class, would it be weird to...
