That's an interesting idea... My son might like that, if we had a place for the tank. They are cool to watch, but not nice footwear. :D

That's excellent! I used to have African snails - they love beer, it helps them grow huge.. wonder if it'll work with slugs? :D

One year I thought I had plants outdoors that slugs should stay off. So I put a jar lid with beer in it, expecting the slugs to fall in & drown. :( Instead I watched them belly up to the bar, slurp it down, have what looked like delighted smiles on their faces, & fall over....outside the lid. I liked their smiles so much, I didn't ever try to kill them again.
Happy birthday! 40 was a good year for me. Hope you do as well or better! Congrats on the telling of the parents, also.

Thank you Aspergirl4hire! :) I'll use your good year as an incentive for me to have a good one, too.
    I finally told my parents!

And what was their reaction? If you don't mind me asking.

Thanks for asking :) They were completely accepting of it, which surprised me! My dad worked with an Aspie so had a bit of an idea what I was talking about. Maybe that helped.
Can hear the first southern boobook since winter started... Spring is coming!
Obviously wasn't satisfied so I punished myself futher by transplanting three apples, a pear and a loquat tree... Ouch, my legs...

    That's what I thought but I wasn't sure...
Loquats are yum! Coloured like quinces... Yellow when raw but red when cooked. Our loquat was in the ground for 5 years but nature (persistent frost, possums) has conspired to prevent its happy growth so I've potted it for sale. The apples and pear have fruited but again it's a battle with the possums and birds!

My grandma had quince trees. Hardly anybody does anymore. Your possums are possums...not like "my" possums. (opossum).

Yep, possums and not opossums. :) Pseudocheirus peregrinus and Trichosurus vulpecula are the species we have here. Also pygmy possums but I've never seen them. Quinces are a bit popular in my rural area. Quince paste, yum!
Still trying to get my head around this forum stuff... I feel old :D

Indeed! And my problem is that I once stepped off the technology train...and it left the station before I could get back on! :) haha

When did you turn 62, H?

I'm still learning new things about how the forums work, and I've been here for almost 8 months, Cos. It's a process. Feel free to ask when you have questions. The more forum-savvy old-timers are very understanding.
