It's a Struggle to Even Introduce Myself to a Woman...

Hello everyone. This is my first post in the "Love, Relationships, and Dating" section. Sorry in advance for the length. I tried to redact it as much as possible. Here's my situation: In the last few years, I've made a ton of progress with A.S. Not sure if it was the right approach or not, but...

Do You Feel "Normal" In Certain Environments

Thanks for the responses. When I say "normal," I mean like a place where you feel like you belong. I agree with the person above that said that feeling normal can happen in a crowded place where no one's paying any attention with you. I was speaking more about socially feeling normal. There are...

Are You Guys Open About Your Interests? Or Do You Hide Them?

Interesting to see the different responses. I keep mine hidden not because of what they are, but because I know so much about them. A lot of my interests I have are shared by other people and aren't considered "weird" at all, but my level of interest in them would likely turn people off, so I...

Do You Feel "Normal" In Certain Environments

Do you guys feel "normal" in certain environments? At two of my old employers, when I started, I had the typical trouble of socializing, but once I was able to form friendships with the people there, I felt like a regular person. Whenever I go there now (or hang out with a former co-worker), I...

    Aspies and hugging

I don't mind my friends hugging me. Like if someone comes up to me arms out, I'll hug them without any worries. I don't enjoy initiating hugs though. I don't like hugging my family though, but that has to do with our tumultuous relationship more than a fear of hugging them.

    Zoning out?

I zone out occasionally, not as often as a lot of you guys seem to. I try my best not to zone out when talking to others, as I know it's rude and I wouldn't want them to do it to me, but I still do occasionally. I don't worry too much about it though, as I'm sure that neurotypicals zone out...

Are You Guys Open About Your Interests? Or Do You Hide Them?

Hi, everyone! I just joined this forum recently, so I'm very interested in seeing how other people deal with A.S. I was wondering: Do those of you with strong interests or obsessions hide them or be open about them, despite possible social implications? I have learned over the years that it's...

Hi everyone! I'm a 22-year old male with Asperger's. I never received an official diagnosis, but I've talked to two different psychologists who said they were pretty sure I had it, and I've taken a lot of different diagnostics tests, and I always have 85-90% of the symptoms. I would love to get...
