    Struggling with intrusive thoughts... again.

I feel you on that. If you don’t mind me asking, what do your intrusive thoughts revolve around? I’m in a similar boat as well you see, one intrusive thought bothers me for months, try to suppress it to no avail, finally deal with that one, and then another one comes in and wreaks havoc, repeat...

Should I ‘just give up on people’ for a while?

Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot. I’m actually now out of school and have been lucky enough to enroll in an online school and currently redoing a year after I fell out with people at college that made my life pretty miserable to be blunt (still, I won’t let that stop me). Today marks...

    True or False

    False. You like nature.

Should I ‘just give up on people’ for a while?

    Very true, well said.

Should I ‘just give up on people’ for a while?

Agreed. I just need to find people who also have autism I guess who can understand my quirks if you know what I’m trying to say. I don’t know how I will, but I will.

Should I ‘just give up on people’ for a while?

Thanks for confirming I made the right choice. I have for a while now, hence why I’m at this point. Overall though, albeit hard, I had to and did so, so I did. Hopefully I’ll overcome this burnout someday and meet new people.

If you were honest with yourselves, how many of you hate having this condition?

I’m glad to hear your finding light in the storm, necessary too if you want to keep your sanity. Obviously I know the storm is a heavy one and still going, but it’s just nice to hear your doing a little better, at least for now. I suppose people feeling better makes me feel better.

Should I ‘just give up on people’ for a while?

Very true, I suppose I shot myself in the foot really. I just wanted to survive I guess if you know what I’m trying to say.

Should I ‘just give up on people’ for a while?

Long story short, I had very bad experiences with people. In short, got bullied severely (punched, kicked, name called, whole sha-bang). Got used a lot and my ‘friends’ were drug addicts who I had to constantly bail out of their problems (drug + alcohol related, other issues, you get the...

Should I ‘just give up on people’ for a while?

I mean, I want connections with people, sure, and it eats away at me that I don’t have them, but at this point I have no energy to put up with the caveats of maintaining friendships, relationships, etc, particularly fighting, arguments, and social hierarchy stuff (which tears me up the wall, but...

True that, I suppose you touched on another underlying issue I have I guess lol.

How do you all cope with the feeling you’ll never feel belonging in this world?

Fair enough. I like to view life like a restaurant. You can have a bad starter, you can have a bad main, but it doesn’t mean you can’t have a good desert. That’s what I hope for in my life.

If you were honest with yourselves, how many of you hate having this condition?

I hate it, I despise what this has done to me. In your case I appreciate you see the benefits, but for me, it drives me insane. I want what I could’ve had, what I was close to having. You only have one brain, and I hate mine.

How do you all cope with the feeling you’ll never feel belonging in this world?

Eh, true. I suppose I find it hard as well to ‘go against the grain’ as I’m fully aware of the consequences of going against it. Trying to be who I am in public led me to a whole lot of grief to be blunt, I suppose I want to regain what I lost (which autism took away from me) and I worry I will...

How do you all cope with the feeling you’ll never feel belonging in this world?

Yep, a harsh reality to swallow but it is the truth nonetheless. Sadly we have to endure said limitations for the rest of our lives, the consequences of which can be quite a brutal truth to accept.
