Have you met another Aspie in real life?

Yes, once. But at the time, neither of us were diagnosed. Not sure if she had realised that she was, but I certainly had no idea.

Your ideas for movies about Autism

I had a sort of silly idea that a group of autistic people meet up and come to use their special interest/"aspie superpowers" to save the world. The one thing I wanted to stress with this is that they are not all savants either. Just a bunch of folks from all manners of the spectrum getting...

    Standing outside my appointment room.

Absolutely nerve wracking, beginning to end. One appointment down, three to go.

Unsure of the gentleman diagnosing me.

All doctors should wear lab coats. It should be a job requirement.

Unsure of the gentleman diagnosing me.

He is an older guy, yeah. The fact that he obviously isn't up to date of current diagnostic criteria is exactly what worries me. I'm sure he's very professional, but if he is out of date enough to still use "Asperger's", then what if he's so out of date that he fails to realise that autistic...

Oh, and lots of person-first language.

Unsure of the gentleman diagnosing me.

He keeps using the term asperger's, which, as I'm lead to understand, is no longer part of the diagnostic model. Also, he told me not to research autism at all, which I found strange.

    Routines, but why?

You just put it into words perfectly. I've been struggling to explain the "All or nothing" aspect of routines.

    Magic: The Gathering

Questella, I'm sure that if we used the same methods of messenger Magic, we could start a little community of players on here. That way, you wouldn't have to conquer the fear (or get the ride) to the comic book store.

    Magic: The Gathering

I use an Esper deck, which I've been developing for the past month. Thinking of making a mono-red, just for fun. How do you play via messenger? That'd be awesome.

    Magic: The Gathering

It's coming back in a big way where I live. In fact, my partner and I are sitting down to a match this evening. Local games stores also have 'Friday Night Magic', for any level of ability.

    Currently socialising

Great advice, folks. I got through half a pack of cigarettes (To excuse myself), but I managed to get through and, for the most part, have a decent time. Having the drink to sip at was also a wonderful soother. Thank you all.
