Why I do not want to be "out" is I never want to be excused

Sure, nobody wants to be stigmatized. But who's saying you are, other than yourself stigmatizing yourself. I felt stigmatized all my life about many things, but very few people ever actually said so. I was fighting a phantom. Also, if I had only one arm or were in a wheel chair, would I expect...

Why I do not want to be "out" is I never want to be excused

I think to autism is emphasized too much. Besides autism there are many other issues in all humans - NT or AT - that cause certain issues, traits, characteristics. Everyone has his or her personality, and there are many angry, aggressive, yelling, inconsiderate, nasty, intollerant, envious...

Why I do not want to be "out" is I never want to be excused

I get your point. I feel similar about myself. I never want to be excused. The downside of this that I have this inner part, that wants to be super-strong, super-good, super-perfect, super-capable, who denies that often I do need an excuse or that I'm not so capable as I want to be. But maybe...

If the above is the case, then I wouldn't bother trying - it won't make you happy.

    bad signs for a date

I know that behaviour: That's what people do, who have some bonding issue - they alternate between desinterest or refusing behaviours, and then they change to the opposite, to interest and love. They really have problems getting close, although they want to, but when they get close, it's too...

I can't wait to get out of the University environment so I can feel secure in being myself

A different example: Most Aspies are very used to discussing their life with others, their personality, problems, querks, desires, anxieties, as we can see here in the forum. This is not the case among NTs. They think that's weird, they keep their inner being to themselves.

I can't wait to get out of the University environment so I can feel secure in being myself

I haven't experienced this either, except for a gay youth group I'd used to participate in, but that was fun - it was all about acting out, boasting and being bold - no boundaries, no rules! =) I guess, that's what young people are like. Today, everyone is much more open than before. You see, a...

    Often just existing

hmm. Maybe you could ask your doc about Bupropion. It is a very helpful medication especially to those who suffer from negative symptoms of psychotic disorders (like psychosis, schizo-affectiv, bipolar-psychotic) and from negative symptoms induced by other anti-psychotic meds. I would really...

Is it fun, easy, hard or "it depends" to be with other aspies?

Sadly, I don't know any other Aspies personally... I never met someone in person. I guess, however, it would be a lot of fun seeing everyone fussing around with their special interests and special issues =D

    Often just existing

Hi there Jason! I also had a look at the book...sounds interesting, I might buy it too! Sorry to hear about your condition... I guess, it isn't much fun living in a group home. How is it here, do you have like own room and PC for yourself? Surely, you can't be forced to get ECT? Or is it that...

Do you have delayed emotional responses that 'appear' suddenly once 'switched on'?

I have the experience, that my emotions are usually rather flat, but that they react to things, real objects, materials, light and certain situations, yet not much in the social context

Are tropical and nautical themes the thing for men's spring/summer clothes?

I know that here - in France in Germany - it's very in fashion to roll up your (rather baggy) pants, so the ankle shows and wear that with some 90s style trainer
