    The eclipse is happening now.

Here's a photo of the partial eclipse. The binoculars are projecting the eclipse onto a sheet of cardboard. Taken on April 20 2023. We had clear skies over here. Location was Tennant Creek.

    The eclipse is happening now.

I wish I had seen that one! Last year I went to Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory to see a partial eclipse. The sun was 55% covered at maximum. The daylight did change slightly. Some pigeons were laying down under a tree thinking it was night. My favourite eclipse was at Ceduna in South...

I meant I have home brewed some side swiper (cootie) keys for CW.

    Any Amateur Radio Operators Here?

I'm a ham from Australia (VK) I really enjoy 20m, 40m, 15m and 2m. 10m is heaps of fun when it's open. CW is the mode I use 99% of the time. I do like 2m FM when there's ducting about. Mostly have Yaesu gear. I love Morse Code. I can head copy up to 17 wpm and hoping to get to 20 wpm one...

How often do you wear earbuds/headphones/earmuffs?

I have the Quiet ones from Loop. They are life-changing for me. I wear them when mowing the lawn, in a shopping centre, down the main street and during thunderstorms. They are also washable. I carry them with me everywhere.

    Who remembers video rental outlets?

There's still a shop in town here where you can hire a DVD movie. I live in a small town where a lot of people mustn't have computers? The shop is called TSG. I do remember when you had to hire the VHS player also. I remember seeing Superman 2 back in the early 80s on video.

    Snow poll!

Here in NSW, Australia, it snows occasionally. We had a good fall in 2015. Temperatures can go to -13°C in winter. I enjoy watching the snow floating in the air. It usually doesn't settle though.

    Taco Bell poll!

I had my first lunch at Taco Bell in Tamworth, NSW Australia. I had a double taco which was wrapped in a tortilla wrap. It was very tasty so I'll be having a meal there again sometime.

    Trains

I've been up to 250 km/h on Germany's ICE or Intercity Express. I did travel on the Eurostar from Paris to London via the "Chunnel" but I didn't see the speed display. In Australia (where I'm from) it was the Tilt Train at 166km/h in Queensland on 3'6" gauge track. My longest journey was on...

    Learning Other Languages

Esperanto is a planned, easy language. It can be learnt in much less time than other languages. It was designed to be a second language. It's grammar is regular. I learnt some off duolingo. YouTube has some Esperanto speakers. It is spoken in over 100 countries. Mi povas paroli Esperanton. La...

    Do you enjoy wind?

I like to fly a stunt kite when there is a moderate strength wind. I get a nice workout with the kite sometimes The highest wind gust I've measured with a hand held anemometer is 122km/h. I don't mind the wind much.

    Drag Queens

I don't do drag myself but have some LGBT friends who cross dress. The Julian and Sandy dramas of the 1960s were good. They used Polari to replace English words which sounded quite funny. It was illegal to be openly gay back then so Polari came in handy.

Would any of you try out nudism?

I've been to a couple of nude beaches. I live inland from the coast so it's a long drive to the nearest beach. Nude bathing is nice during the winter months as the temperature doesn't fall too much. For me the biggest problem with nude bathing was the awful sunburn afterwards!

does anyone else have an Astronomy Special insterest?

I've been into astronomy since 1995. I have a 25cm dobsonian telescope. My avatar shows the Southern Cross and the pointer stars. I've seen two total eclipses of the sun. Ceduna in South Australia in December 4, 2002 and Port Douglas, Queensland on November 14, 2012. Both were unforgettable events.

    Your Favorite Color(s)?

The colour of Earth's shadow on the moon during a lunar eclipse is always pretty. Glitter tubes with single colours ( especially gold ) look lovely. Also the colours from laser pointer beams ( red and green ) looked great too.
